The amazing group of students from WLA spent part of thier day volunteering at the Winlock/Vader foodbank. Thier cheerful and polite attitudes brought joy and happiness to the other volunteers and our community. We would like to wish everyone a Happy Holiday!view image

"Walk N Knock bags did not get put in the newspapers this year as they usually do. We are sending paper bags home with the students this week. The Walk N Knock folks are also in need of volunteers. If you would like to be a driver, runner, or sorter; please come to the elementary school cafeteria this Saturday, December 7th at 9am, don't forget to fill your bag and leave it on your porch before you leave. Thank you so much, have a great day and Go Cards!!"

Good afternoon WMES parents, guardians and community members,
Shortly before 2pm this afternoon (10/3/19), WMES was placed on a partial lockdown (shelter in place) for approximately 40 minutes. The shelter in place procedure was initiated by law enforcement for the protection of the elementary school during an arrest procedure at a nearby residence. Students, staff, and law enforcement effectively executed the drill, and there were no injuries reported during the incident. The safety of our students is of paramount importance. WMES would like to thank law enforcement and the Winlock Police Department for keeping our school/community safe.
