I WOULD FIRST LIKE TO PERSONALLY THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN STAYING WITH US DURING THE SEATTLE TO PORTLAND BICYCLE CLASSIC. IT WOULD BE OUR PLEASURE TO HOST YOU AND I AM SURE YOU WOULD BE VERY PLEASED WITH YOUR STAY WITH US.
Winlock provides lodging in both our elementary and high school gyms.
The elementary school is located in downtown Winlock. The high school is located approximately three miles outside of town. Riders coming to the high school will leave the STP route at Napavine in order to take an alternative route. If riders going to the high school do not take the alternative route and arrive in downtown Winlock, they will be subject to a rather long uphill ride to get to the high school.
DIRECTIONS FOR RIDERS STAYING AT THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Riders coming to the elementary school will follow the published STP route. A key point in your trip will be the town of Napavine. You will enter the town of Napavine from Rush Road. Napavine is a small town with only one stop light. At the stop light, riders going to the elementary will turn right and proceed west. Riders will cross a set of railroad tracks and ride approximately one tenth of a mile turning left onto Birth Avenue SW. Birch Avenue SW is a city street which will turn into Highway 603 after you reach the city limits. Once on highway 603, riders will remain on this road and it will take you into the town of Winlock. As riders enter Winlock, they will be traveling on Kerron Street. Once you enter town, you will travel approximately ½ mile and turn right on Walnut Street. A landmark to look for is the Cattermole Mortuary. Take the second right on Benton Street and it will lead directly to the Winlock Elementary School Gym.
DIRECTIONS FOR RIDERS STAYING AT THE HIGH SCHOOL
Riders coming to the high school will need to follow an alternative route. A key point in your trip will be the town of Napavine. You will enter the town of Napavine from Rush Road. Napavine is a small town with only one stop light. At the stop light, riders going to the high school will turn left and proceed east. You will be turning on to East Washington Street. You will travel a short distance to the city limits. Once you have reached the city limits, the city street will turn into Koontz Road. You will travel approximately 1/3 miles on Koontz Road and turn right on North Military Road. The high school is located at the south end of North Military Road, a distance of five miles.
Please be aware the Winlock truck carries the luggage for a number of groups offering housing. Luggage going to either the elementary or high school should have either a yellow or blue tag. This tag will help us identify your luggage when we are separating luggage for the different groups providing lodging. When unloading the luggage we will only be looking at the color of the tag. Please be sure to attach your own personal information to your luggage. Luggage going to the elementary school will have a yellow tag. Luggage going to the high school will have a blue tag. Individuals choosing to register online with a credit card and do not mail us a self-addressed envelope will not receive a yellow or blue tag. In this situation it is your responsibility to label your luggage with some type of yellow or blue tag (tape, bow, card, etc). If you choose to register online and send us a self-addressed envelope, we will gladly mail you luggage tags.
