24-25 Superintendent

     Director Holly Orbino, chair of the Winlock School District, recently announced that, “We are thrilled to be hiring ‘one of our own’ as our next superintendent. For the past three years Michelle has performed exemplary as our Special Programs Director, and we are excited to have her amazing skills and talents applied to our superintendency beginning July 1, 2024.”

     Jeffries received her Bachelor of Arts in education and her teaching certificate in 2009 from City University. She added a special education endorsement from Evergreen State College in 2011, and completed her Master of Education in Curriculum/Instruction at the American College of Education in 2011, as well.

     She earned her Principal Certification from Eastern Washington University in 2022, and will be in possession of her Superintendent Certification from City University by the end of March of this year. Michelle started her career in education as a sign language interpreter for preschool students through adults. She then taught for Centralia School District for ten years before coming to Winlock School District as its Special Programs Director in July of 2021.  

     Jeffries first superintendent contract will be for two years, 2024-2026. She will take over for Bob Garrett who has served as our Interim Superintendent since March of 2023. We are pleased to announce that Mr. Garrett will stay for one year as our Assistant Superintendent. He will work one day a week in district, and one day a week remotely.
